My name is Timo Tapaninen — a native Laplander, born in Posio and living most of my adult life in Rovaniemi with my lovely family.
I grew up surrounded by forests, lakes, and the quiet beauty of Eastern Lapland. Today, I live in the capital of Lapland, where I have spent over 13 years working in the tourism industry. Lapland is not just where I live—it is my home, my landscape, and a big part of who I am.
I personally guide every experience I offer, whether it’s a Northern Lights hunt, a day trip to Riisitunturi or Korouoma, a visit to Ranua Wildlife Park, or a local ice fishing adventure. For me, guiding is not just a service—it’s a responsibility.
My approach is simple:
safe, personal, and authentic experiences—guided the way I would guide my own friends visiting Lapland.
Alongside guiding, I work as a Creative Producer, running my own media and production company. I create travel videos, photography, and storytelling content for travellers, families, and businesses across Lapland. I also provide DJ experiences for private groups and events—a craft I’ve practiced for over 30 years.
This combination of guiding and creative work allows me to share Lapland not only through knowledge, but also through visual storytelling and atmosphere.
