*****
”I think this is the only place that offers an aurora tour that is never canceled. If you only have a few days to stay and absolutely want to see the northern lights, even if the weather is bad, I highly recommend this tour! Even though it's expensive, it's totally worth it! Our guide was an expert in aurora hunting and took us on a four-hour one-way trip to Sweden, where we successfully saw the aurora. It will be a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life!”

”The tour guide was very nice and friendly. Although the weather was not good, he was very responsible in taking us around to look for the aurora.”

”An excellent experience. Timo drove for hours until we found a spot with no clouds or fog, where we were able to enjoy a spectacular aurora borealis. His tenacity, experience, and kindness were essential for witnessing such a magnificent sight. Furthermore, during our travels, we had very interesting conversations about the aurora borealis, the wildlife, and daily life in Finland. I highly recommend this experience with Timo.”

”I had the absolute pleasure of doing this tour with Timo! He is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and he explains everything about the area while also making great conversation along the way. The Korouoma waterfalls were amazing. The snowy landscape and views were definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Finland. A BBQ is included in the trip, which was also delicious.”

Frequently asked questions
Is this a private visit?
Yes. Every visit is completely private and reserved exclusively for your family, group or party. Santa and his Elf will never combine your booking with other guests.
Can Santa visit our hotel or accommodation?
Yes. Santa and his Elf can visit most hotels, apartments, villas and holiday accommodations in the Rovaniemi area.
However, it is the responsibility of the customer to confirm with their accommodation provider that a private Santa visit is permitted and that access arrangements can be made. Some accommodations may have specific policies regarding visitors, security procedures or access outside normal reception hours.
To help ensure a smooth and magical experience, please provide clear instructions in advance regarding how Santa and his Elf can access the property, including reception procedures, entry codes, room numbers or meeting points if applicable.
If you are unsure whether your accommodation is suitable, please contact Arctic Safari Guides before booking and we will be happy to assist.
How long does the visit last?
The visit typically lasts around 15–20 minutes, depending on the group size and the flow of the experience.
Is this experience only for families with children?
Not at all. Many couples, honeymooners, friend groups and company teams book a private Santa visit simply to experience the magic of Christmas in Lapland.
Can Santa bring gifts?
Santa brings a small gift for every child taking part in the visit. If there are no children in the group, Santa will instead bring a small gift for each adult guest.
In addition, Santa presents one special Christmas keepsake for the entire family or group to help remember this magical moment long after the visit is over.
If you would like Santa to deliver additional gifts, you're welcome to prepare them in advance. Santa will happily distribute your pre-arranged presents during the visit, making the experience feel even more personal and magical.
To arrange the delivery of your own gifts, please contact Arctic Safari Guides well in advance of your visit via the booking system or by email. This allows Santa and his Elf to carefully prepare everything before arriving at your accommodation.
Many families choose this option to create the unforgettable moment when Santa appears to know exactly which gifts belong to each child.
What if we are staying outside Rovaniemi?
Please contact us before booking. Santa may be able to visit locations outside Rovaniemi for an additional travel fee, depending on availability.
Can Santa mention personal details about our children?
Absolutely.
When making your reservation, you are welcome to provide information about your children and, if applicable, the adults taking part in the visit. This helps Santa create a more personal, magical and memorable experience for everyone.
You may also add or update information later through the booking system or by email if you remember something important after making your reservation.
Santa can mention details such as:
• Names and ages
• Hobbies and interests
• Sports and team activities
• School achievements and accomplishments
• Musical talents and creative activities
• Christmas wishes
• Family traditions and special memories
• Personal milestones and celebrations
The more Santa knows about your family, the more personal and magical the visit can become.
Please avoid sharing highly sensitive personal information. Santa only needs enough details to create a warm, authentic and unforgettable Christmas experience.
Why choose a private Santa visit instead of meeting Santa at an attraction?
A private visit offers something that public attractions cannot: time, privacy and personal interaction. Instead of waiting in line, you'll enjoy an exclusive one-on-one experience with Santa and his Elf in the comfort of your own accommodation.
Can we take photos and videos?
Of course.
We encourage families and groups to capture this special moment, and Santa and his Elf are happy to pose for photos and videos throughout the visit.
Santa's Elf is also happy to assist with content creation, helping you take family photos, group pictures and memorable videos so that everyone can be included in the memories. Whether you'd like a quick family portrait, a group photo with Santa, or a short video of the magical meeting, the Elf will gladly help whenever possible.
Many guests consider these photos and videos among their most treasured memories from Lapland.
Which languages can Santa speak?
Santa Claus is Finnish and speaks Finnish, English and Spanish.
In addition, Santa knows a little of many other languages thanks to the countless children and families he has met from around the world over the years. While he may be able to greet guests or say a few words in other languages, the visit is conducted primarily in Finnish, English or Spanish.
If you or your family are not comfortable communicating in English, please let us know when booking. We may be able to arrange an Elf who speaks your language to help with communication during the visit.
However, due to the busy Christmas season, a language-specific Elf cannot always be guaranteed. We therefore recommend informing us of your language preferences as early as possible.
