Local Guide Timo Is Ready for Winter 2026–2027
After an unforgettable winter season, I am excited to begin preparations for Winter 2026–2027.

Last season, I had the privilege of welcoming guests from around the world to Lapland. Together we explored Riisitunturi National Park, admired the frozen waterfalls of Korouoma, visited Ranua Wildlife Park, searched for the Northern Lights, fished on frozen lakes and created magical Christmas memories for families visiting Rovaniemi.
Every season teaches something new.
But one lesson remains the same:
The most memorable Lapland experiences are personal, authentic and built around genuine human connections.
A New Chapter
Over the years, I worked my way up to become the Chief Operating Officer of one of Lapland's largest safari companies.
The experience taught me a great deal about tourism, operations and customer service. But it also confirmed something I had felt for a long time.
My favourite moments were never behind a desk.
They were the moments spent outdoors with guests.
Sharing stories around a campfire.
Helping someone catch their first fish.
Watching a family see the Northern Lights for the first time.
Introducing visitors to places that have been part of my own life since childhood.
That is why I decided to focus entirely on creating experiences my own way.
Today, every experience is guided personally by me.
When you book a tour, you know exactly who your guide will be.
Experiences for Winter 2026–2027
For the coming winter season, I will continue offering a carefully selected collection of experiences that showcase different sides of Lapland.
These include:
Northern Lights adventures
Ice fishing experiences
Riisitunturi National Park tours
Korouoma Frozen Waterfalls tours
Ranua Wildlife Park visits
Santa Claus experiences
Forest Elf Treasure Hunt adventures
Ruka winter day trips
Many experiences have been refined and improved based on guest feedback from previous seasons.
The goal is not to offer the largest selection of tours.
The goal is to offer experiences that people remember long after they return home.
Why Choose Local Guide Timo?
My philosophy is simple:
Create the kind of experience I would want for my own family and friends visiting Lapland.
That means:
Small groups whenever possible
Relaxed pacing without unnecessary rushing
Genuine local knowledge
Safety-first guiding
Authentic Lapland experiences
Professional photography included in many tours
As a native Laplander born in Posio and now living in Rovaniemi, I enjoy sharing not only the destinations themselves but also the stories, culture and traditions that make Lapland unique.
Easy and Secure Booking
Booking your Lapland experience is simple and secure.
Reservations are managed through Bókun, one of the world's leading booking systems for tourism companies, while payments are processed securely through Stripe.
This allows you to check availability, reserve your place and complete your booking with confidence.
Looking Ahead
Every winter is different.
The Northern Lights appear on different nights.
Snow conditions change.
Wildlife follows its own rhythms.
That unpredictability is part of what makes Lapland so special.
Whether you are visiting Lapland for the first time or returning for another Arctic adventure, I look forward to sharing this beautiful part of the world with you.
Hopefully, I'll see you in Lapland this winter.
